Scheduling Commitment Opportunities:

Tier A:

Minimum Per Diem Requirement (Base Hourly Rate – No Premium), Self-Scheduled Hours

1) Must work at least 24 hours per 4 week schedule (2 pay periods), including 1 potential weekend shift to meet department needs.

2) Must be available to work 1 holiday per year.

Tier B

Weekdays and Weekends, Any Shifts (Base Hourly Rate 245.00 Per Hour Premium)

1) Must be available to work a total of 72 scheduled hours in home department per 4 week schedule (2 pay periods) (8 or 12 hour shifts), including 2 potential weekend shifts to meet department needs.

2) Must be available to work 2 scheduled holidays per year (1 summer and 1 winter).

Tier C

Weekdays and Weekends, Any Shifts (Base Hourly Rate 247.00 Per Hour Premium)

1) Must be available to work a total of 96 scheduled hours in home department per 4 week schedule (2 pay periods) (8 or 12 hour shifts), including 4 potential weekend shifts to meet department needs.

2) Must be available to work 2 scheduled holidays per year (1 summer and 1 winter).

Under the supervision of the Division Director in area of responsibility and clinical leadership of a registered nurse, prepares the surgical suite and patient for surgery and assists the team during the procedure.

Qualifications

Registration/Certification/Licensure:

Certification** by the National Board of Surgical Technology if graduation occurred after July 1, 2009

Or evidence of actively practicing surgical technology in a healthcare facility prior to July 1, 2009.

CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary resuscitation) within three (3) months of hire

**For graduates after July 1, 2009, certification exam must be attempted within 3 months of employment. Surgical Technician will have up to 6 months after hire to successfully pass certification exam or must have achieved certification within 12 months of graduation or forfeit employment.

Education:

Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED).

Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or completed a surgical technology program provided by the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard, or the commissioned corps of the United States Public Health Service. Must provide evidence of 15 continuing education hours related to the practice of surgical technology annually to continue employment.
