Community Health Systems Security-Security Officer-Full Time in JACKSON, Mississippi

Description

The Security Officer fosters a safe and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors. Patrols hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and intruders. Monitors conduct of visitors on hospital premises; confronts unauthorized persons for questioning as needed. Responds to inquiries for advise or assistance from hospital personnel, students, and visitors; assists in restraints of psychiatric patients as needed. Surveys parking lots for space availability, correct parking of vehicles, valid parking permits and security of cars and people. Responds to all Code calls where Security is needed and other emergency situations.

Education: Post-secondary education in security or law enforcement discipline is preferred. Must be able to read and write the equivalent of eighth grade English.

Experience: Previous experience in Law Enforcement, Military Police, or as a Security Officer is required. Demonstrated experience with critical incident management, de-escalation methods and providing large facility security is required. Must understand diverse population behaviors and understand methodologies of crowd control.
