Community Health Systems RN - Neuro-Tele Unit - 90% Variable Shifts in Lancaster Region, South Carolina
Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Promotes patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
Current CPR certification or successful completion of Basic Life Support within one week of hire.
Successful completion of the hospital administered medication examination with a score of 90 or greater.
Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.- Annual reorientation/competency completion.
Completion of basic arrhythmia class within three months of hire.
Desirable characteristics include at least two years experience in a hospital or medically related environment.
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.
Must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient s status and interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient s requirement relative to the patient s needs and to provide care needed as described to in policy and procedure.
Current State of SC Nursing License from the State Board of Nurse Examiners.
Current CPR certification required.
Must obtain ACLS certification within 3 months of hire.
Current certification on NIH stroke scale
