Community Health Systems Anesthesia Tech in TUCSON, Arizona

Description

Job Description: Assists Anesthesiologist by setting-up equipment and preparing medications. Orders, stocks, tests, and maintains anesthesia supplies, medications, and equipment. Washes and sterilizes re-usable equipment and reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Associate's degree or its equivalent with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. May also be required to complete anesthesia technician trainee program. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Required: Completion of Anesthesia Tech, EMT, Surgical Tech or similar course -OR- 1 year experience as an Anesthesia

Tech can substitute for education requirement.

Preferred: EKG course.

Experience: Two (2) years anesthesia technician experience preferred.

Skills: Appropriate prioritization and planning skills, while achieving safety and quality in a high volume environment; Engaging and

effective communication and service skills; Adherence to policy and procedures; Process improvement oriented; Self-initiative to

assist with whatever is needed.

Licenses/Certifications:

Required: American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) BLS.

Preferred: American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) ACLS and PALS; Cer. A.T. or Cer. A.T.T.
