This position is for the Mother/Baby couplet unit. Caring for postpartum patients and newborns. We are looking for motivated team player that is focused on providing exceptional patient care. Requiring 12 hours shifts and weekends.
The Nurse Tech in the "Mother / Baby" Obstetrics and Gynecology unit cares for post-partum mothers after labor and delivery, performs various direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Assists patients in dressing or undressing, bathing, or eating. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens or gathers vital signs but does not start or administer intravenous fluids. Aids physicians and nursing staff members with procedures if needed. Documents patient interactions as needed.
High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience required. Post High School vocational / specialized training preferred.
One (1) year clinical experience in hospital, 1 year L&D or postpartum experience preferred.
BLS certification card required (must be AHA- American Heart Association)
CNA required for anyone without 1 year recent hospital experience as a tech.
