Description:

Responsible for the administration of pharmacological,diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care proceduresnecessary to implement treatment, disease prevention, pulmonary rehabilitative,or diagnostic regime prescribed by a physician. The transcription andimplementation of the written or verbal orders of a physician pertaining to thepractice of respiratory care. Proper assessment, observation and monitoring ofsigns and symptoms, general behavior, and general physical response to respiratorycare treatments and diagnostic testing. Recommend and implement appropriaterespiratory care procedures and protocols based on observed abnormalities.Implement changes in treatment pursuant to the written or verbal orders of aphysician. The ability to assess and initiate emergency procedures. Collaborates with other professionaldisciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery to achievedesired patient outcomes. Performs all other duties required.

Qualifications

Education:

Graduateof an approved Respiratory Therapy program with a diploma or AAS degree.

Licenses/Certifications:

Licensedby Texas Department of State and Health Services.

CurrentBLS certification or obtained during the first week of orientation.

ACLScertification recommended.

Experience:

Previousexperience preferred.
